Well hello -- let me just kickoff by saying -- if you are not willing to look at the "big picture" then this may not be the read for you . . Unless you are in attempt to adjust your thought process . . If this is the case -- again I say HELLO :)
So by definition to sacrifice means to give up (something important or valued) for the sake of other considerations. Hhmm . . . In other words force yourself to do without something you like, love and/or enjoy in order to obtain, achieve or do something else. Ok, ok, ok here's an example . . . You enjoy online shopping, you typically find yourself purchasing several items a month. You are currently in a life transition period and funds are limited. Consider possibly decreasing your shopping and either saving those funds or applying them to another source. Once your financial situation shifts, you can comfortably return to your cyber mall. Look at that -- you made a sacrifice! Congratulations! The above is a simple sacrifice -- sacrifices are definitely not always as simple or easily done. However as with every aspect of life -- things differ per person. The sacrifice of space is among one of the most difficult sacrifices I have personally made to date. That same sacrifice may not be as difficult to the next person. Has that difficult sacrifice been worth it -- most definitely! Having the ability to assess what you can and can not sacrifice to attain your personal goal(s) is important. Maybe giving up online shopping completely is unrealistic, well try cutting your shopping in half. Maybe you aren't willing to sacrifice your living space for lower monthly cost but you are willing to drive a Toyota instead of an Audi. Possibly you've noticed that you dine out excessively. Give grocery shopping a go and meal prep to cut your personal food cost. Sacrificing in the early years, sets one apart from the crowd. Your peers and/or family may not understand your motives; however you are setting up YOUR life for . . Guess who? YOU! Therefore, do what you have to do to reach your personal potential. As a business minded fool -- numbers are always in mind. So lets just do some calculations :::::::: Simply cutting your expenses by $25 per week equals approx. $100-$125 per month which results in $1300 per year. Over ten years that is $13,000 you have acquired just by a sacrificing $25 per week. If that $25 is increased to $100 per week, over a ten year period that is $52,000 . . . So now you see why I initially stated -- you have to think big picture . . You have to think "at what cost" . . . Sacrificing stretches far beyond finances . . Sacrificing for relationships, career trajectory, personal growth . . All can be attained by assessing what you are willing to give up to satisfy a particular life aspect. |
