Inspiration from The Owner
Dream Big - Set Goals - Take Action
Think about someone you classify as "successful" - Why are they successful? How are they successful? What has made them successful?
Just as the end goal of "success" looks different for every person, so does the path. It is rare, let's just say impossible, for two people to travel the exact same path to success however there are a few things that remain constant.

Dream Big
Rather dreaming big means owning a business, climbing the ranks of an established business or making the commitment to return to school. Dream big and work diligently to work towards turning dreams into reality.
Set Goals
Set realistic, attainable and measurable goals. Break down long term goals with short term goals and distinct intervals. For example, your goal is open a business in 2016, break down each element (business plan, marking plan, budgeting, staffing, etc.) and set milestones for each month. By breaking down your large goals, you are making those big dreams more attainable.
Take Action
In order to reach that "big dream" the first step is to wake up from dreaming and get to work! Set those goals, break them down and take action. Hard work does not pay off unless you work hard. Dreams will never be a reality without due diligence and hard work!

"Storms" : A Message from the Owner
It is no secret, the owner of 1 Am She believes in a higher being and can truly attest that her faith has been a prominent factor for her success. This week, in the midst of the storm, she simply wants to inspire someone to never, ever let the "storms' of life allow determent or lack of drive. In this life, there will be "storms" that may come out of nowhere and surely seem to be demotivating and discouraging. Well, let me tell you, grab your umbrella, rain-boots and other protective gear! The storms are only test of your endurance. Despite the turbulence and difficulty to maneuver, ride out your storm -- when the sun does yet rise again be sure to say "thank you" and inspire the next person to push through their storm. Take a moment to recap on a moment or period of time that would be considered a "storm in your life. Now, take another moment to appreciate what that storm taught and brought to your life. Now, clap for yourself because you survived the storm!
A storm nearly allowed me to cancel an engagement which indeed changed my life, my business and my perspective on some pertinent societal issues. As a songwriter says "I Told to the Storm", the sun will shine and I will be okay, that's what I told the storm!
Don't allow storms to control your mind, body or soul, take control of your life and ride out the storm -- the sun will shine again!

Live with our owner, T.D.James
Each week on Tuesday evening, our owner goes live via her personal Facebook page to discuss various topics. Topics are selected based on fan submissions, current issues and "touchy" life subjects that we often like to brush over. The Adversity serious kicked off on Tuesday, May 10th with a discussion on how to deal with adversity for your advantage. Continuing, on May 17th, Adversity Part II: The Spectators addressed people in your life who bring forth a presence of adversity.
On Tuesday, May 25th, she concluded the series with "Adversity Conclusion: Self". This talk will discussed how we subconsciously bring adversity to our own lives. Self-doubt, pity and overall negative self-talk. Ms. James is accepting submissions for topics to add to the line-up, fan submissions are our favorite because we want to deliver directly to our prime supporters. To submit a topic email us TODAY at [email protected]. |
Service over Self - Our Owner Takes on Atlanta!
During the 2016 Atlanta Greek Picnic, our owner had the opportunity to serve as a brand ambassador for Voice of Philanthropy (Atlanta, GA), in this capacity she served as site leader for one of three simultaneous service projects. Ms. James along with fellow Greek sisters and brothers were able to tour and help transform the kitchen storage area at City of Refuge. City of Refuge is located in the middle of one of Atlanta’s most impoverished and crime-ridden neighborhoods where nearly 40% of the residents live below the Federal Poverty Level. The mission of City of Refuge is to transform the city of Atlanta despite being located near the “1300” block of 30314 which is ordained by the FBI as the 5th most violent block in the entire United States.
